The non-appointment of Maia Sandu as Prime Minister is to detriment of the parties that recently formed the ruling alliance and of society as well, political analyst Olga Nicolenco said in the talk show “Pahomi” on Realitatea TV channel, IPN reports.

“We all lost out on the non-appointment of Maia Sandu as Prime Minister, with all her faults.  Maybe she wasn’t the perfect candidate, but she is the smallest evil of all the evil we witness in this country. In the end, all the parties of the AEI would have gained if they had accepted Maia Sandu as head of Government,” stated Nicolenco.

The analyst said she was hopeful that the three parties will field Maia Sandu until the last moment. “I had a hope and believed that the leaders of the three parties are not cowards and that they learned the lesson after they saw about 30,000 protesters in the street,” she stated.

As to Valeriu Strelet, Nicolenco said this was the perfect candidate for the AEI parties. “Tell me three things that make him better than Maia Sandu? He is a convenient and blackmailable person. Unlike Maia Sandu, I saw that Strelet was very glad. I saw a happy man. He is probably the only one who is happy among the 3 million Moldovans,” she said.
