According to the expert, the leader of the Communist Party Vladimir Voronin will show his cards then and the Association Agreement with the EU will be his trump card. “Vladimir Voronin will blackmail both of the sides by using this accord so as to get political advantages if a government coalition is formed. He will threaten those from the political right that he will denounce the accord, while those from the left that he will not denounce it,” stated Olga Nicolelenco.
The expert explained that Vladimir Voronin wants to return to power at any cost and she thus anticipates such a post-electoral scenario. “After being a king on this land for eight years and after staying in the opposition for five years, he is ready to form a coalition with anyone so as to return to power. This is how the lack of clarity in the Communist leader’s statements concerning the external development course can be explained,” said Olga Nicolenco.
She noted that the success of Renato Usatyi is due to the failures of the government coalition. “The votes that will be given to Renato Usatyi will represent revenge taken by a part of the people on the parties of the government coalition. Usatyi does not have a clear message and the absence of this message intrigues a part of the voters. Anyway, even if Renato Usatyi wins the seat of MP, he will never become a politician. He yet has all the chances to become the clown of the future legislature,” stated the expert.
