The future Prime Minister, no matter who he or she is and what qualities he or she has, will be a sacrificial one, political analyst Olga Nicolenco said in the talk show “Place for dialogue” on Radio Moldova station, IPN reports.
“The future Premier will have to be tough and to implement reforms that won’t be popular,” argued Nicolenco.
As to the candidacy of Maia Sandu, Olga Nicolenco said that if Sandu does not have the necessary support, she will not manage to do something. “Sandu can be a good and professional person with integrity, but she will manage nothing if she will be the only one with such qualities in the Cabinet. The ministers could act in opposition to the Prime Minister,” she stated.
Nicolenco noted the negotiations were harsh, judging by the way the ministerial portfolios were distributed. “Unexpected things happened, which are not very favorable. For example, a team was formed and a strategy was adopted at the Ministry of Education and now this institution will be controlled by another party. Or the Ministry of Justice. The Democratic Party was often criticized for controlling all the law enforcement bodies and the judiciary. Now it will manage also the Ministry of Justice and will have everything needed to control the whole legal system,” said Olga Nicolenco.
