The state should satisfy the needs of Moldovan migrants who return home. For the purpose, favorable development conditions should be created, Olga Coptu, head of the Bureau for Diaspora Relations, stated in the talk show “Geopolitics” on Noroc TV channel, IPN reports.

Olga Coptu said that to create an attractive environment for persons who want to return home, all the state institutions should become involved. “Many people stay abroad because there they enjoy health insurance and social benefits that wouldn’t have ensured the same quality in the Republic of Moldova,” she stated.

The Moldovan migrants who want to return home should be supported, while those who remain abroad should have their rights ensured. Classes could be created for children of Moldovan migrants to additionally work with them and help them integrate into society.

Oleg Chicu, a Moldovan who migrated to Italy, said most of the Moldovan young people do not want to return home. Some of them were born abroad. Others left Moldova at an early age. Many yet are not tempted by the idea of returning home.

On October 8, the Government approved a decision on the mechanism of coordinating state policies on diaspora, migration and development. Under this mechanism, persons responsible for the diaspora will work in each Moldovan community. The goal is to ensure the efficient implementation of policies in the field and to contribute to increasing the positive effects and reducing the negative effects of migration.
