Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Olga Cebotari will hold the post of Prime Minster on an interim basis as from January 1 until President Maia Sandu signs a decree on the appointment of another acting Premier, outgoing Prime Minister Ion Chicu announced in a news conference on the last day of his tenure, IPN reports.

Asked what he will do afterward, Ion Chicu said he will rest for a period and will then send his CV to different companies, as everybody does. “My CV could also get to radio and TV channels of the Republic of Moldova,” he stated smiling. He could not say if he would yet become involved in political or not or if he would be on the electoral lists of a party in the snap parliamentary elections.

At the end of his tenure, Ion Chicu thanked ex-President Igor Dodon, with whom he had very good institutional cooperation, as he said. “Please accept the expression of my gratitude for the work and support offered to this government in such a difficult period of time,” he stated, addressing Igor Dodon.

Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu, Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Anatol Usatyi and Minister of Finance Sergiu Pușcuța are also completing their duties. Under an internal order, the given posts as of January 1 will be held on an interim basis by the secretaries of state Tatiana Zatyk, Tatiana Ivanichkina and, respectively, Mihail Lupashko.
