The young artist Olguta Carnat inaugurated on Friday, June 8, in the premises of the OSCE mission to Moldova, a personal exhibition consisting of 31 works of art.
Olga Carnat is 31 years old and has had arthritis for 10 years. A first degree invalid, she needs an expensive treatment worth EUR 15,000. Olga says she realises this is a large sum of money, so she decided to create compositions of beads, seashells and even beans, which she sells to pay for her treatment. The artworks displayed at the exhibition are priced at EUR 50 to EUR 1,000. “Each of them is a piece of me. Only God knows how much pain I went through to create each of these compositions”. “A Place in the Sun” is the first artwork sold at this exposition, with two other pictures already been ordered.
Teodor Carnat, the artist’s brother told the audience how much self-sacrifice Olga’s artworks required, as her fingers have been very much thinned by her sickness. He is confident that those who will buy her works will fell relief if they get sick, knowing that the author herself went through pain when she created them.
The exposition hosted by the OSCE mission is open until July 7 to all the people who want to buy a picture and help Olga Carnat.
