Moldovan canoeist Oleg Tarnovschi on July 16 will contend in two finals of the Canoe Sprint European Championships held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, IPN reports.
The 25-year-athlete qualified for the canoe simple 500 m final after winning the semifinals with the result of 01:54.028. Oleg Tarnovschi will also compete in the canoe simple 5 000 m final. The same day, the pair Oleg Nuta and Ilie Sprancean wil contend in the canoe double 500 m final.
In last year’s championships in Moscow, Oleg Tarnovschi won bronze in the 500 m race, while his brother Sergey Tarnovschi won silver in the 1 000 race. Moldova was then 14th in the medals rankings.
