Officials who hid incident in Domneasca Forest should be dismissed, PAD

The dismissal of all the officials who hid the incident that happened in the Domneasca Forest is the only logical finale in a state of law, unaffiliated MP Mihai Godea, who heads the Democratic Action Party, told a news conference on January 17, Info-Prim Neo reports The Security Service head Mihai Balan, Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubko, “Moldsilva” director Ion Lupu, Minister of Health Andrei Usatyi, the Chisinau Court of Appeals president Ion Plesca, and Minister of the Interior Dorin Recean must quit, said Godea. According to the lawmaker, the participation of the officials in hunting in a banned area, the use of prohibited bullets, and the hiding of this case condemn them irrevocably. Mihai Godea said that Prime Minister Vlad Filat was to take part in the December 23 hunting too, but he gave up in the last moment. The MP considers that all the bodies responsible for ensuring the state of law reacted inappropriately to the incident in the Domneasca Forest. “The way the created situation was managed is a dangerous precedent that must be urgently eliminated. Otherwise, this incident will form part of the loud crimes whose investigation wasn’t finished. The current state of affairs is generated by the political influence on the law enforcement institutions and the excessive political control of the governmental institutions,” he stated. He also said that all the components of the Alliance for European Integration are to blame for this situation either because some of the members took part in the illegal hunting, tried to hush the case up, or because they didn’t take all the legal measures required in such cases. The Democratic Action Party demands creating an extended commission of inquiry that would include investigation journalists, representatives of civil society, employees of the law enforcement bodies, a representative of Moldova’s President, and foreign experts. Mihai Godea said he can conduct the parliamentary inquiry if necessary.
