The Russian army last night mounted the largest attack since the beginning of the war on the Ukrainian city of Odessa. The authorities reported three victims, including a child, IPN reports.
According to the Ukrainian authorities, the target of the Russian attacks was civilian infrastructure. A number of shopping centers and residential buildings were affected. Strong fires broke out as a result of the attacks.
"The enemy attacked the suburbs of Odessa. Civil infrastructure, commercial buildings and cars were damaged. There are victims. Doctors are providing all the necessary assistance on the spot and in the city hospital," Odessa mayor Gennady Truhanov posted on social media.
Power cuts were reported in Primorsky, Peresypsky and Kievsky districts.
Zaporizhzhia region in southern Ukraine was also the target of Russian missiles, the region's governor said. Ivan Fedorov reported a series of strikes on areas near the city of Zaporizhzhia, including a guided bomb. As a result of the attack, a 61-year-old man, three women and a 4-year-old child were injured, the State Service for Emergency Situations of Ukraine announced.
In Sumy Oblast, the local administration informed that the Russian army carried out 112 attacks on border communities, which resulted in 187 explosions. The most affected were the localities of Nikolaevka, Belopole and Krasnopille, according to sumypost.com.
