Octavian Ticu named Minister of Youth and Sport

Octavian Ticu was appointed as Minister of Youth and Sport. President Nicolae Timofti on February 26 signed the decree to name him to post, at the suggestion of Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Info-Prim Neo reports. Octavian Ticu, 40, has a bachelor of history degree from “Al. I. Cuza” University based in Iasi, Romania. He is an expert in political analysis at the Institute for Development and Social Initiative “Viitorul” and the chair of the Department of International Relations and Politology of the Free International University of Moldova. Octavian Ticu has been boxing champion of Moldova for seven times. He was also awarded at 23 international competitions. The post of Minister of Youth and Sport fell vacant after Ion Cebanu tendered his resignation.
