Occupations and property of candidates for post of prosecutor general

The commission for selecting candidates for the post of prosecutor general made public the CVs, income statements, interest statements and work programs of the eight applicants for the vacancy. The publication of this information represents one of the stages of the process of choosing a candidate, IPN reports.

Prosecutor Gheorghe Nogai works at the Prosecutor General’s Office as prosecutor responsible for transport. In 2012, he earned incomes of over 85,000 lei as salary, while his wife – over 71,000 lei. Last year, the two also earned almost 120,000 lei as pension. The candidate owns six plots of land in Glodeni district, an apartment, a house and a garage in Chisinau.

Jurist Mihai Petrache works as an administrator at the Legal Advise and Promotion Center “Mihai Petrache”. In 2001-2005, he had held a seat in Parliament. Since 2002, he has headed the Centrist Union Party of Moldova. Last year, Mihai Petrache earned incomes of over 48,000 lei as salary and received 2,300 lei from an arbitration activity. He owns an apartment to the value of 749,000 lei in Chisinau and a vehicle.

Jurist Valeriu Plesca had been an MP between 1998 and 2004. He now runs a private business. The Plesca family last year earned 45,000 lei as salary. They also made over 200,000 lei from selling the parents’ house and inherited 750,000 lei in cash from the parents. They own a house in Chisinau, two trucks and two trailers, and a deposit of €50,000 in a national bank.

Lawyer Emanuil Plosnita heads a law office in Chisinau. Last year, he earned over 183,000 lei as honorarium and 30,000 lei as dividends from a joint stock company. He has got an apartment to the value of over 95,000 lei in Chisinau, a garage and a car of 360,000 lei. He is a shareholder in five companies, while his son-in-law is a member of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova.

Lawyer Tudor Suveica has worked at his own law office since 2008. Last year, he earned incomes of almost 87,000 lei as honorarium, while his wife over 59,000 lei as salary. The Suveica Family declared over 163,000 lei received as pensions and allowances. The lawyer has a plot in Ialoveni, a house in Magdacesti, an apartment of over 487,000 lei in Chisinau, a parking lot, and a car of 155,000 lei.

Jurist and businessman Boris Muravschi, ex-deputy minister of the interior and general police major, receives seniority pension of 5,500 lei. He owns a house of 2.8 million lei that is located in Chisinau. He is a member of the Democratic People’s Party.

Jurist Vitalie Porlog was minister of justice in 2006-2009 and acting Prime Minister for a short period in September 2009. Last year, he earned 135,000 lei from legal advice services and from the public association that he heads. He has a house to the value of almost 666,000 lei in Chisinau.

Lawyer Ilie Rotaru is a scientific researcher at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova and lecturer at the Teacher Training University in Chisinau. In 2012, he earned incomes of almost 66,000 lei as salary and pension and from scientific work. He has an apartment to the value of 263,000 lei in China and shares in a number of companies.

The eight candidates passed the first stage of the contest and are to be interviewed by the commission at the second stage. After a candidate is selected, Parliament is to confirm him in post.
