The society in Moldova is in a state of depression. Civil society is also confused, the deputy head of the European People’s Party of Moldova Oazu Nantoi said in the program “Interpol” on TV7 channel, IPN reports.

According to Oazu Nantoi, the Moldovan people allowed to be guided by illusions in the recent past and now the depression came. “Polls are not needed to realize that society is in a state of depression,” he stated.

According to the politician, to overcome this state the people must have a hope in the future and this hope could be a common candidate in the presidential elections. The political leaders of the right, who are in the opposition, must ultimately give an answer to society – whether they will go together in the elections with a common candidate or will go separately.

“There are three scenarios. The first: each party will field their own candidate and will compete in the elections. The second: the three parties will nominate one of their leaders as a common candidate and the other parties will support this. The third: the parties will join efforts and will field a common candidate,” stated Oazu Nantoi.

According to him, the last scenario is the best variant because only this way can society be freed from captivity. “This can be a person from outside or a party leader,” said the analyst.

Oazu Nantoi considers the common candidate for President could be later supported by civil society. Now the political leaders have the responsibility of presenting a concrete plan of action to society.
