The nursery school in Cairaclia village of Taraclia district was closed owing to the very low attendance rate. Half of the children are absent because they suffer from acute respiratory infections.

Contacted by IPN, the head of the Taraclia District Education and Sport Division Eugenia Mandajy said the decision to close the institution was taken when half of the 56 children of the nursery got infected.

At another nursery school, in Tvardita village, 18 children from one group became infected with rubella and do not attend the nursery. Eugenia Mandajy said that two high schools and two secondary schools from the district were closed temporarily in February owing to the high number of respiratory infections, but the students already returned to classes.

The kindergarten in Cairaclia will remain closed until February 27.

The Ministry of Education does not have synthetized information about other education institutions closed because of absence of students owing to respiratory infections. The first-fourth graders are on vacation until March 2. The vacation for fifth-twelfth graders starts on February 25 and ends also on March 2.
