A hygienist nurse of the Florești subdivision of the Soroca Public Health Center lost the battle with COVID-19. Angela Scvîrov was 49. She was admitted to the Florești District Hospital on November 23. This is the 64th death among healthcare workers so far, IPN reports, with reference to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
As many as 703 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on December 21. Of those confirmed with the infection, 31 are healthcare workers.
Moldova by now has got over 135,900 cases of COVID-19. The infection for 2,778 persons was fatal.
Over 3,300 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are now in hospitals and 233 of them are in a critical state, with 60 being put on a ventilator. About 8,500 persons with mild forms of COVID-19 are receiving treatment at home.
