Nurse from Hâncești with COVID-19 dies after developing complications

A nurse of the Pediatric Unit of the Hânceşti District Hospital succumbed to COVID-19. Vera Romașcu was initially admitted to the Hâncești District Hospital, but on January 1 was transferred to Saint Trinity Municipal Clinical Hospital. By a press release, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection offered its condolences to the family, relatives and staff of the Hâncești District Hospital, IPN reports.

On January 14, there were reported 18 deaths associated with the novel coronavirus. As many as 3,211 persons lost the battle with COVID-19 in Moldova since the start of the pandemic.

A number of 3,140 tests for COVID-19 were done today, with 741 of these being positive. Of the over 2,300 patients with COVID-19 who are now in hospitals, 230 are in a very serious state and 41 of them were put on a ventilator. More than 3,800 persons with mild forms of COVID-19 are receiving treatment at home.
