Number of workplaces on the rise

A rise in the number of workplaces has been witnessed this year. Significant increases are expected mainly in transport, communications, agriculture and processing industry, Stefan Calancea, first vice director of the National Employment Agency, has told Info-Prim Neo. Stefan Calancea made reference to a study that covered 2,093 economic entities. The study shows that the companies plan to create 1,0467 workplaces this year. Of them, 6,051 are projected to be set up in the processing industry, 1,501 in agriculture, 1,295 in trade, 406 in the construction sector, 366 in transport and communications. The economic entities covered by the study also planned layoffs for 2011. A number of 653 persons will be made redundant in agriculture, 428 in trade, and 267 in the processing industry. According to the monthly statistical reports of the National Employment Agency, the number of dismissed and unemployed persons over the first months of this year has increased compared with last yearend, but is lower than the figures for the corresponding period last year.
