Number of unemployed in 9 months exceeds 3 times number of newly employed

The number of Moldovans having lost their jobs in the first 9 months of 2009 exceeds three times the number of the people who have found new jobs during this period. According to Employment National Agency, 16,900 people have been employed from January to September, as the number of the unemployed reached 54,600, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Government's Action Plan on promoting employment policy in 2008 has been accomplished in ratio of 71.6 %. 4,900 fewer unemployed have been registered during this period than in the same period of 2007. The Economy and Trade Ministry (MEC) announces, in a press release, it is going to continue the project on employing graduates through the three-side agreement: the Employment Agency, the company and the education institution. 11 contracts of this type have been concluded this year. Most of the jobs available are in industry, commerce, constructions, transport and communications.
