The number of posts at the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) will be decreased and the fired employees will be reassigned to the specialized and territorial prosecutor’s offices. The proposal to optimize the structure of the PGO was formulated by acting prosecutor general Dumitru Robu. The prosecutor general will have one deputy instead of three, IPN reports.
The acting prosecutor general made a relevant approach to the Superior Council of Prosecutors, asking for permission to make changes to the structure of the PGO and the specialized and territorial prosecutor’s offices. According to him, the current organizational structure does not enable to perform efficient activities and runs counter to the principle of clear distribution of posts and optimal use of human resources.
Following the optimization of the PGO, 21 prosecutors will be assigned to work at specialized and territorial prosecutor’s offices.
