Russia has increased by 1250 the number of authorizations for the bilateral transport and transit of goods granted to Moldovan carriers and by 100 - for the irregular passenger transport, for the III quarter of 2019. At the same time, for the Russian side the existing quota was increased by 1000 authorizations for the transport of goods to and from third countries. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Moldovan-Russian Joint Commission on International Road Transport, IPN reports.

According to a press release from the Russian Embassy in Moldova, this was done because "the Commission members noted the increase of bilateral trade between states and the positive dynamics of the freight volume, the bilateral cooperation in the field having a development potential".

IPN wrote that the carriers raised the issue concerning the small number of export permits for Russia. Only two hundred authorizations remained in stock, Vladimir Florea, Chair of the Union of Transporters and Roads Workers Employers’ Association said then for IPN.
