In 2013, the number of building sites in Moldova rose by 50%, according to data from the Association “The Moldovan Construction Market”, which monitors constructions from the design stage to their putting into service.

Association director Alexandru Digolean told IPN that thanks to considerable financial support from the EU, the number of constructions is on the rise. Most of the European donors support the construction of apartment blocks and the extension of plants and factories. Another part of the European money is invested in free economic zones, energy projects and so on.

Alexandru Digolean said that the EU remains the biggest donor for Moldova and estimations show that number of construction sites will increase yearly by 20%.

Information on constructions in Moldova can be found on the website of the Moldovan Construction Market: buildinginfo.eu/md. The database is updated daily and lists construction projects and data about their beneficiaries, designers and contractors. It also publishes ads looking for subcontractors or suppliers of construction materials.
