The number of children who want to take part in Junior Eurovision Song Contest has declined owing to the violations committed in the national pre-selection, said People’s Artist Vasile Morosanu, producer of the music studio “Moldova’s Pearls”.

The artist, who forms part of an initiative group for Eurovision Junior Song Contest, in a news conference at IPN said that that during the three years during which Moldova took part in this international contest, the national pre-selection was held in nontransparent conditions and with serious deviations from the regulations.

“The winner must be chosen by the community and a professional jury consisting of specialists who can objectively assess a song or a performance. The public television exists on our taxes and it is its duty to ask society who should go to the contest,” stated Vasile Morosanu.

He presented two letters challenging the results of the 2012 edition to which the administration of Teleradio-Moldova Company hasn’t yet responded. Vasile Morosanu asked the managers of the contest to rerun it, with a jury consisting of renowned professionals.

“The contest was not transparent and impartial. The jury should include persons with integrity,” stated Vasile Morosanu, adding that he can go through the country at his own expense to look for talented children and bring them to the public television so that the organizers see real talents.

Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 will take place in November 30. The national pre-selection to choose Moldova’s representative at this contest hasn’t been yet announced.
