Number of companies registered at the fiscal service is increasing, as well as of those proposed for liquidation

The number of companies which are registered at the state fiscal service increased by 18 155 or by 2.8% in the first nine months of 2006 compared with the similar period of the last year, amounting to 655 617. The highest growth rhythm was noted at the companies with the statute of legal person – by 8.8% or by 6 278, up to 77 690. On the other hand, the highest increase was registered at the companies with the statute of individual persons (individual enterprises) – by 11 877 (2.1%) and amount to 577 927. Of them, 520 552 are households, the number of which increased by 1.8%. As regards the number of individual tax payers – citizens paying the property tax, the data provided by the fiscal service show an increase of 5.6% (73 737). The total number of tax payers constitutes 1 392 583. In the first nine moths of 2006, the number of companies paying the VAT increased by 17.4% and constitute 19 128, and of companies paying excises – by 4.4%, up to 399. The fiscal service initiated insolvency procedures for 438 companies, and another 288 had been erased from the state register in conformity with the decisions of the courts. Another 764 companies were proposed for the liquidation procedure. These figures increased by 28.4% or 2.9-fold and 4.7-fold compared with the similar period of the last year.
