The inhabitants of Nucăreni village of Telenești district and those of Târnova commune of Dondușeni district on September 6 elected their mayors. According to the preliminary results presented by the Central Election Commission (CEC), the mayoralty in Nucăreni was won by the Democratic Party’s candidate, while in Târnova by the Party of Socialists’ candidate, IPN reports.
The voter turnout in Nucăreni was 425 votes and the PDM’s candidate Sergey Rusu polled 291 votes. His opoonents Yuri Chernolev of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” won 72 votes, while Sergiu Lașcu of the Liberal Democratic Party – 52 votes.
As many as 1,396 people cast their ballots in Târnova and 1,003 of them voted for the PSRM’s candidate Victor Bodorin. The PDM’s candidate Ion Lisnic gained 242 votes, while independent candidate Oleg Lisnic - 115 votes.
After the results are confirmed and elected mayors’ seats are validated by court, the CEC and the two districts electoral councils will publish the final results.
