The National Regulatory Agency in Telecommunications and Informatics launched for the users of communication services a hotline by means of which they can find information about their rights and the obligations of the service providers, also having the possibility of providing information about any violation committed by providers.
The telephone line 0-800-800-80 can be reached from any settlement in Moldova, from Monday to Friday, between 8.00 and 17.00. All the calls are free of charge.
According to NRATI deputy-director Stanislav Godea, the decision on the launch of the “hotline” is the first of a series of actions planned to be carried out by the Agency until the end of the year, in order to promote and protect the rights of users of telecommunication and informational services.
“The page of the service user” will be added to the webpage of NRATI, which will become a channel of interactive communication between consumers and the Agency. Also, the representatives of the associations for consumer protection will be engaged in the process of working out and discussing the drafts of regulatory acts and the amendments to the regulations which address the interest of the service users.
According to the Law on telecommunications, NRATI is the authority in charge of examining the requests and complaints from service users and to settle the disputes occurred between the service users and operators, as well as the disputes between operators.
