“November 1” Committee urges police to stay out of political harassment

“The November 1, 2006” Committee calls on the police forces to disallow corruption attempts, and to stay out of political harassment conducted by the government party, an appeal made by the Committee says, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. According to the cited source, in order to consolidate its position in the society and further maintain its power by all means, the Communist Party promotes a policy of total monopolisation of the political system, branches of national economy, mass media, all bodies of state authority, including justice, using antidemocratic, illegal, unconstitutional methods, contrary to the principles of international legal norms. The annihilation of the opposition parties at local and national level, by intimidating and persecuting their leaders and members, initiation of criminal proceeds, use of administrative instruments for controlling and penalising companies that oppose the improper and inefficient methods of the state’s influence on the economic activities, forced communisation of the society, truth monopolisation – all these represent the arsenal of “arguments” of the Communist Party in the dialogue with the political opponents and society, says the appeal of “The November 1, 2006” Committee, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. “The November 1, 2006” Committee is composed of the Republican Popular Party, Social-Democratic Party and Centrist Union of Moldova. The Committee is a consultative political body and was set up with a view to organising resistance of the opposition parties to the process of usurpation of power, contributing to the establishment of a transparent politic system, a real political pluralism, and to promoting democratic values in Moldova.
