The teens aged 15-16 will be vaccinated against poliomyelitis from April-March, division head at the National Public Health Center Anatol Melnic said, when asked by Info-Prim Neo to describe the new features of the vaccination program approved by the Government. The previous years, this age group was not immunized ageism poliomyelitis. A new vaccine, against rotavirus that causes severe diarrhea, will be included next year. It will be administered to children younger than one. Immunization against pneumococcal infection that causes severe pneumonia and bacterial meningitis will start in 2013. Anatol Melnic said that besides these novelties, the vaccination program for 2011-2015 contains all the obligatory vaccines given until present. A sum of 12 million lei was allocated from the budget in 2010 for vaccination.
