The candidates who will sit exams in the additional Baccalaureate session will have the right to challenge the grade if they do not agree with it. This is provided in the exam methodology that will be applied during this year’s session. According to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, the new provision will increase the chances of the students who will ask for additional assessment.
Minister Monica Babuc requested the heads of local specialty education bodies to ensure an appropriate atmosphere at the Baccalaureate exams so that all the candidates are informed about their rights and obligations.
A number of 32,258 primary school students, 30,411 secondary school students and 18,776 lyceum students will take national exams this year.
The 2018 Baccalaureate session will take place during June 5-22. The exams will start on June 5 for other-language speakers, in the Romanian language and literature. On June 8, there will be sat the exam in the language of study, while on June 12 the exam in the foreign language. The next exam will be taken on June 15, in math by students who study exact sciences and in history by those who study humanities. The students of arts schools will sat exams in arts or sports.
On June 19, the candidates will take the Baccalaureate exam of their choice: geography, physics, chemistry, biology, math, history of Romanians and universal history and informatics. The session ends on June 22 with the exam in the mother tongue that will be sat by Ukrainian, Gagauz and Bulgarian students. The additional Baccalaureate session will be yet announced.
