Normative acts insuring portability of phone numbers to be developed till later this year

Till the end of this year, the normative frame insuring the portability of the phone numbers will be developed, Info-Prim Neo reports. The promise was made by Sergiu Satnic, recently appointed as the director of the Electronic Communications and Informational Technology Regulating National Agency (ANRCETI), at a news conference. He has said implementing the portability of the phone numbers, under the Law on electronic communications, will be done on the basis of a special program. Ludmila Esanu, an official of the Agency, has said they set up a working group, comprising representatives of ANRCETI, of the Informational Development Ministry, of the Competition Protection National Agency, of operators and service providers, who have already worked out the concept of the the number portability, and now deal with developing the program. “Meanwhile, we posted a questionnaire for the wide public on the Agency's site. Obviously the portability service is necessary, being a premise to develop the healthy competition, as the users will be able to migrate from one operator to another, depending on the quality of the services provided,” specified Esanu.
