The Democratic Party (PDM) considers that none of the ministers who damaged their reputation and were investigated within criminal cases must not enter the new Cabinet, the party’s leader Marian Lupu said after the April 20 meeting of the PDM’s National Political Council, IPN reports.
“All those who discredited themselves, against whom criminal cases were started and who do not understand how a minister should act do not have a place in the Government,” said the Democratic leader. Asked if he also refers to acting Minister of Culture Boris Focsa, who was named by the PDM, Lupu said that he refers to everyone.
As to the negotiations held with the Liberal Democratic Party on the formation of the new Government, Marian Lupu said that many things are yet to be discussed. “I will refer only to two groups of problems – how different institutions should act, and without discredited persons,” he stated.
Marian Lupu stressed that the Democratic parliamentary group will take a decision whether to vote for Vlad Filat as Premier or not after the negotiations are over. “We must finish the talks first. The important decisions can be taken at 5-6 in the morning too,” he stated, replaying to a journalist who said that there is not much time left for taking decisions.
The chairman of the PDM said they also discussed the possibility of early elections and agreed that an optimal solution should be identified to the political crisis.
Three Moldovan ministers have been so far investigated in criminal cases over abuse of power Health Minister Andrei Usatyi, Minister of Culture Boris Focsa, and Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta.
