Most of the Moldovans consider that the non-election of the President of Moldova is the most important political event in the country, according to a poll launched by the Association of Sociologists and Demographers of Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. The second and third positions in the rankings of important events are taken by the last year local elections and the changes related to the Transnistrian dispute. “They include the election of a new Transnistrian leader, the opening of the formal talks in the 5+2 format and the January 1 shutting incident at a peacekeeping post,” said the Association’s head, sociologist Victor Mocanu. Among the important political events, the respondents mentioned the leaving by the Dodon group of the Communist Party, the raider attacks and the arguments inside the Alliance for European Integration. The poll shows that Moldova’s population is now more undecided who to vote for in elections. 43% of those polled could not say who they would vote for, while 45% said they trust no Moldovan political personality. However, when asked which of the mentioned parties thy trust more, 41% said they prefer the Communists. The poll “Vox populi – January 2012” was carried out during January 9-18. It covered a sample of 1 587 respondents from 72 settlements. The margin of sampling error is plus-minus 2.6%.
