A meeting involving MPs and ministers of the Party of Action and Solidarity was held at the President Palace yesterday evening. Asked by journalists about the purpose of the meeting, MPs said they discussed the security and political situation, IPN reports.

MP Radu Marian noted that they discussed the next steps in the fight against corruption and eventual Cabinet reshuffles. He refuted the rumors that Natalia Gavrilița intends to quit as Prime Minister.

“We discussed the political situation, security issues, the existing risks, the applied solutions,” said Radu Marian. Asked why the meeting was convened so late in the evening, the MP stated that the hour does not really matter.

MP Veronica Roșca told the journalists that they discussed the improvement of processes. “We took decisions aimed at improving the processes,” said the lawmaker.

MP Oazu Nantoi noted they conferred on the situation in the country, including the state of affairs in the energy sector, and it didn’t go to the resignation of the Cabinet.

MP Dumitru Alaiba said the meeting centered on internal organization issues and, if announcements follow, these will be made by persons in charge of this.

Contacted by IPN for a comment, the spokeswoman for the Presidential Administration Sorina Ștefârță stated that she cannot provide details about the meeting.

Later, the PAS came with a reaction, saying it was a meeting of the MPs of the parliamentary majority with the President of the Republic of Moldova and the Premier. “In connection with the energy blackmail against the Republic of Moldova planned by Russia and the attempts by the grouping of stealing and war to cause chaos in the country, solutions to ensure peace in the country were discussed and are to be adopted in the nearest future. Ways for improving the performance of some of the ministers were also discussed. The taken decisions will be announced soon,” stated the party.
