No trolleybus line for the reconstructed Ialoveni Street

“Chisinau-Proiect” Designing Institute drafts a study regarding the possibility to reconstruct Ialoveni Street, linking the southern part of Durlesti town with the capital. It is quite possible that the plan will not include the construction of a trolleybus line on this street. This conclusion follows the debates upon this issue held at the last working visit of the president Vladimir Voronin at the mayoralty of Chisinau. The reconstruction of Ialoveni Street, including a trolleybus line, was one of those 25 development projects, presented y the interim mayor Vasile Ursu. Both local and central authorities mentioned the critical situation of the road on this street, motivating the reconstruction by the fact that official delegations visiting the Durlesti-based Public Administration Academy ride on it too. Mr. Ursu noted that the inhabitants of Durlesti solicit as well the construction of a trolleybus line, but for the moment its reconstruction is the main concern. The same opinion is shared bz the president Vladimir Voronin, who required drafting a study regarding the profitableness of the possible trolleybus line. The head of state also underlined that the trolleybus line in Durlesti has to wait until other important roads are built. Ialoveni Street has about 10 kilometers and links Durlesti town with the Telecentru district of Chisinau.
