The contract for building the waste recycling station in Chisinau has been renegotiated. The contractors have recently requested the list of necessary documents to obtain the building authorization and then to submit the file, according to mayor Dorin Chirtoaca, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We’ve done our part. Now it’s up to them. There’s already some delay. We met with them last week and they assured us they would recover it”, Chirtoaca said. However, he didn’t name the date when the building should start. Italian company Engineering Consulting must built the waste recycling station near the water purifying plant. The allotted area is 10 hectares. The land will be leased for 30 years. Afterwards, the City will have the right to become shareholder of the station. The contract for shipping Chisinau waste to Tantareni landfill is set to expire today, December 31, and it’s unknown whether it can be extended.
