The Parliament’s commission on national security, defense and public order will propose a bill to amend a number of normative documents so that the public service providers no longer ask for different types of additional documents from citizens or representatives of the business community if the data contained in these are available in electronic format and can be provided through the agency of the interoperability platform, IPN reports, quoting the legislature’s press service.

This refers to such documents as the certificate showing lack of debts, extract from the real estate register, extract from personal account of the socially insured person. The data provider’s unfounded refusal to ensure the availability of data and to furnish data through the interoperability platform will carry a fine of up to 1,000 lei in the case of private individuals, of up to 2,500 lei in the case of persons holding responsible posts and up to 3,000 lei in the case of legal entities.

The law is to take effect on June 1, 2021.
