Nistru war veterans will receive commemorative crosses

The veterans of the Nistru war will receive commemorative crosses on the occasion of 20 years of the start of the war for defending Moldova’s integrity and independence, Info-Prim Neo reports. The activities that will be organized on this occasion were discussed in a meeting of the special governmental commission. A proposal was put forward that all the participants in the battle should be given state awards. According to the information made public in the meeting, about 30,000 persons will be entitled to such awards. The veterans, volunteers or their families may be also given by 200 lei in financial assistance. The program of activities includes commemoration tables, setting up of commemorative plaques on buildings, renaming of streets in memory of the heroes who died in the war. A monument in memory of the heroes killed in battle will be erected in Cantemir town. The Academy of Sciences will print a book on the history of the war for defending Moldova’s integrity and independence. There will be made a documentary about the Nistru war. On March 2, it will be 20 years of the start of the Transnistrian conflict.
