Deputy mayor of Chisinau Nistor Grozavu signs the ordinances and decisions of the municipal authorities as acting mayor general of Chisinau municipality already, IPN reports.
Thus, Nistor Grozavu temporarily took over the duties of mayor general of Chisinau municipality after Dorin Chirtoaca on July 28 was suspended from post until a definitive judgment is passed in the case in which he is investigated for influence peddling and passive corruption.
Under the legislation, in such situations the post of mayor general is held by one of the deputy mayors on an interim basis. Nistor Grozavu is now the only deputy mayor in office.
