The passports of the Republic of Moldova with the expired period of validity can be used in nine states, namely Latvia, Israel, the Russian Federation, Armenia, Estonia, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Ireland and Ukraine, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said that expired passports can be used only in the states that confirmed their readiness to accept these. Ukraine is the last country that issued its confirmation in this regard.
The Estonian responsible authorities informed that for technical reasons, the checks at the border can last longer than usual for citizens travelling with expired passports.
On June 1, the period of validity of the passport of the citizen of the Republic of Moldova that expired or will expire after December 31, 2022 was extended until June 30, 2023.
