Nine persons aged between 18 and 67 were admitted to the Leova District Hospital with poisoning last night. The head of the hospital’s infectious diseases section Margareta Melnic has told IPN that the people suffer from stomachache, headache, nausea and vomiting. Three of them were discharged. The state of the other patients is stable and they will be also discharged soon.
As doctors said, the people had been at a christening party and most probably ate something infected there. On July 31, the results of analyses will be available and the cause of poisoning will become known.
After a similar ceremony last year, a number of persons were hospitalized with poisoning after eating food infected with salmonella. A man died.
