For the investigation of the banking fraud, seven-nine months was enough if there was will. If a new prosecutor investigates the banking fraud from zero, he can do this because the evidence cannot be destroyed, especially when it is about bank transfers. The issue was developed in the talk show “Politics of Nataliei Morari” on TV8 channel, IPN reports.

“I know a large part of my inferiors from the National Anticorruption Center, the Ministry of the Interior and the Prosecutor’s Office. I know very well that these are professionals. They indeed cannot complete the investigation as they were instructed to not move on,” stated Socialist MP Vladimir Țurcan.

According to him, the questioning in Parliament of the prosecutor general is important from political viewpoint to understand why the investigation into the banking fraud wasn’t finished. “From political viewpoint, it is very important to ask: “Mister prosecutor, you cannot, do not want or you are not allowed to?”, said the MP.

Vice president of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” Stanislav Pavlovski said each document in banking activity is made in three copies and witnesses are also a source of evidence. “Furthermore, the money was transferred from one bank to another, outside the borders and back. So, the traces remain anyway. The problem resides not in the fact that there are no traces or that it is impossible to prove the blame, but in the lack of political will,” stated the politician.

The president of the Liberal Democratic Party Tudor Deliu said the main suspect in the banking fraud is free and the prosecutors delay the completion of the investigation. “It seems to me that this happens because a lot of those involved in the theft of the US$ 1 billion are now in Parliament and at the head offices of parties and they do not want the truth to come out,” stated the MP.
