A child of nine months from Chirianca village of Straseni district was rushed to the hospital in a serious state, with burns, as a result of a house fire caused by the stove. He was sleeping in the house, left without supervision, IPN reports.

According to Liliana Puscasu, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the non-observance of the stove using rules is one of the causes of the fire. Things situated nearby can catch fire from the too hot stove.

The child was admitted to the Straseni District Hospital in a state of shock, with burns on the face, hands and the right leg. “The child will be transferred to the National Children’s Hospital “Emilian Cotaga” in Chisinau later today,” the hospital’s medical vice director Stefan Calancea has told IPN.

The doctor said that the child was dressed and covered with a blanket. Only the face and hands were uncovered. This thing saved him as the child didn’t suffer burns on the other parts of the body.

Stefan Calancea also said that such cases are frequent in the cold period of the year and the parents should be more cautious and not leave the minors without supervision in the house, especially in rooms where there are possible dangers.

According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the flames destroyed things in two rooms. The fire was extinguished in an hour.
