Three persons were hospitalized with frostbite, while another six with hypothermia in the municipality of Chisinau during the last few days. Most of the cases happened in Buiucani district. The information was presented in the January 9 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, IPN reports.
Health Division head Mihai Moldovanu said the persons with frostbite were transported to the Clinical Traumatology and Orthopedics Hospital, while those with hypothermia to the Emergency Medicine Institute. He called on his colleagues from other subdivisions to direct homeless persons to the lodging center located on Haltei St when they meet such persons.
As to the epidemiological situation in the municipality, Moldovanu said the number of viral infections has decreased. More than 2,900 cases were reported last week, as opposed to slightly over 3,000 cases a week before. There are now 78 children with respiratory infections at the Municipal Clinical Hospital of Infectious Diseases of Chisinau. Of them, 28 have flu.
