Gagauz politician Nicolai Dudoglo, who is a former member of the Democratic Party, will run independently in a single-member constituency in the parliamentary elections of next February. The politician informed about this in the talk show “Important” on TVC21 channel, IPN reports.

Nicolae Dudoglo said he decided to run following a poll conducted among the citizens of the Autonomous Territorial unit of Gagauzia, which showed favorable data in this regard. A similar opinion poll is now carried out in Ceadâr-Lunga and Vulcănești. His candidacy will be confirmed in the December 16 meeting of the Organization “New Gagauzia” that he heads. “Our organization will propose and will support two candidates - in the Comrat constituency and in the Ceadîr-Lunga-Vulcănești constituency,” stated the politician.

Nicolai Dudoglo said he lost a lot while he formed part of the Democratic Party that does not enjoy support in Gagauzia, according to him. “If I hadn’t joined the PDM, I would have probably become the Bashkan of Gagauzia,” he stated.
