Nicolai Dudoglo left the Democratic Party (PDM) and the seat of Member of Parliament after the party’s administration asked him to choose between party membership and the status of founder of the public organization “New Gagauzia” based in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, IPN reports.
In a posting on a social networking site, Nicolai Dudoglo said he will continue his political and social activity at the public organization “New Gagauzia” that aims to make a considerable contribution to the rebirth of Gagauzia.
Nicolai Dudoglo said he had productive cooperation relations with the colleagues from the PDM, but sometimes had to abstain from voting particular bills that did not match his view.
“I’m convinced that time has come to transform Gagauzia into a powerful region, a national model for developing an autonomous territorial unit of the Republic of Moldova in accordance with the current legal framework. This is what our people want and this thing will be useful to the whole country,” wrote Nicolai Dudoglo.
Earlier, the administration of the PDM in a press release said the public association is a movement with political objectives that do not match the policy pursued by the PDM. By the objectives that Nicolai Dudoglo intends to promote as part of the movement, he becomes incompatible with the status of member of the PDM and of the Democratic parliamentary group. At the same time, he becomes incompatible with the views and actions concerning the pro-European modernization of the country promoted by the party.
