“It is normal to have new hopes in a New Year, especially after an intense and difficult year that left a bitter imprint on some of us. I wish the disappointments and failures to remain in the past. From now on, we should mobilize and make effort to achieve the national and personal goals we set,” President Nicolae Timofti said in the traditional New Year’s Eve message addressed to the people,” IPN reports.
The head of state said the Europeans course should be continued and this should not be distorted by pompous statements behind which obscure business that run counter to the national interests flourish. “2015 showed us that the natural enthusiasm we experienced when we achieved results at Europeans level should turn into concrete actions aimed at improving the public climate, rooting out corruption, including the political one, eliminating the shortcomings and gaps existing in society. I’m optimistic that we have the power to achieve these objectives. You inspired me with confidence by the firm actions you took to defend your rights, when the political elites showed signs of weakness,” stated Nicolae Timofti.
The head of state noted the whole political class should listen to the people’s wishes so as to ensure normality and the country witnesses authentic democracy where the people is sovereign and its wishes are holy.
“If we treat things with seriousness and responsibility, we will manage to ensure stability and will have a fully-fledged government. I also transmit good wishes to our compatriots who are abroad, far from the homeland, and to all those who care about this land,” concluded the President.
