President Nicolae Timofti laid flowers at the Embassy of Russia and signed in the condolence book opened at the embassy in connection with the assassination of the Russian ambassador in Turkey Andrei Karlov, IPN reports.
“We were all profoundly shocked by the barbarous assassination of Russia’s Ambassador in the Republic of Turkey Andrei Karlov. I express my profound and sincere condolences to the relatives, friends and close relatives of Mister Karlov and to all the people of the Russian Federation,” stated president Timofti.
He also said that Andrei Karlov was an innocent and collateral victim of international terrorism that the Republic of Moldova condemns with firmness.
