Nicolae Timofti is candidate for presidency

The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) signed in favor of the chairman of the Supreme Council of Magistrates Nicolae Timofti for the post of President, MP Veaceslav Ionita told the press. Update: Liberal lawmaker Valeriu Munteanu also said that he signed for Nicolae Timofti for the presidency. Nicolae Timofti was seen at the PLDM’s head office earlier today, March 12. The Liberal-Democratic leader Vlad Filat told the reporters that the meeting involved the PLDM’s MP and members of the Government. “It was a constructive discussion, with many questions. We conferred on different issues concerning government work. At 1pm, we will officially announce the name of the candidate,” he stated. ”Our objective is to elect the head of state. We thus needed this calmness and no public battles over the future candidates or candidate.”
