Nicolae Timofti: Idea of integration into Eurasian area runs counter to European integration idea

Moldova’s President Nicolae Timofti considers the idea of integration into the Eurasian area runs counter to the European integration idea. He made the statement in an interview for Radio Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. Nicolae Timofti said the European integration idea will help unite Moldovan society and he will promote it during his tenure. “I hope the people will understand what course is best for Moldova. A people cannot be united if they do not have a common idea. We lived in the area about which you speak (the Commonwealth of Independent States – e.n.), which overlaps the European area,” stated Nicolae Timofti.
