President Nicolae Timofti transmitted a congratulatory message on the occasion of the Easter holidays, by which he wishes the people to have the power to forgive and to drive away the sad thoughts, IPN reports.
“There are not many days when several generations come together at the holiday table, when memories are recollected and the warmest and most pleasant feelings are experienced, when the lights are lit almost simultaneously at the icon lamp and in our souls. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the biggest Christian holiday,” reads the message.
Nicolae Timofti says that as any other people, the people of Moldova has a history that is closely related to the ancestors’ culture and faith and has a destiny with ups and downs. “I would like the spirit of the Easter holidays to unite us all in common ideals and to guide our thoughts and Christian deeds that deserve to be admired so that we pass from evil to good and from vices to virtues. Now more than ever we need each other and need hope, mutual confidence and faith. I’m convinced that the Light of Resurrection can help us achieve these ideals,” wrote the President.
He also wishes the people accomplishments, peace and welfare. “On the Resurrection Night, we should have power to forgive and ask for forgiveness, to drive the sad thoughts away and gather together the optimistic ones, while the germs of benevolence and kindness should yield the material and spiritual welfare deserved by all the Christians and the generations of today and tomorrow. Christ is risen!” says the message.
