“Nicolae Testemițanu” University denies responsibility for poisoning of children at Sergheevka resort

The State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemițanu” is not responsible for the work of the health resort “Medic-2” based in Sergheevka city of Odessa region. Even if the resort belongs to the university, it was leased out and is managed by the Ukrainian local authorities, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the educational establishment.

According to the press in Ukraine, 46 of the 226 children who were resting at the “Medic-2” resort were hospitalized with enterocolitis several days ago. The Ukrainian authorities took legal action over this case.

In its press release, the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemițanu says that according to the information of the Odessa Regional Laboratory Center, the affected persons are from the Ukrainian regions Kiev, Chernigov and Kharkov, not from Moldova, as the press in Ukraine and Moldova reported.

“We assure you that immediately after our institution obtains more information, we will provide details so that this case is objectively elucidated,” said the institution.
