The discrepancy between the results of the exit polls and the official results announced by the Central Election Commission (CEC) can be explained by the fact that the sympathizers of the Communists avoided saying who they voted for. They voted for the Communists Party (PCRM), but are afraid to admit it publicly, political analyst Nicolae Negru has told Info-Prim Neo. “They are ashamed that they support a criminal, Bolshevik party that did not renounce the inheritance of Lenin or Marx,” the analyst stressed. According to Nicolae Negru, another reason is that our statisticians do not manage to determine the structure and real number of the population of Moldova and of the Moldovans who are abroad. Therefore, the samples of the sociologists do not show the real demographic situation in Moldova. “For that reason, some of the groups of people, divided according to ethnicity, gender, political sympathies and other criteria, might not be appropriately represented in these polls. If so, all the surveys in Moldova are false,” the analyst said. He also said that it is not for the first time that the official results show more votes for the Communists than the polls. According to the exit poll commissioned by Publika TV and conducted by IRES (Romanian Institute for Assessments and Strategies), the PCRM won 25.7% of the vote. Another exit poll carried out by CBS-AXA, by order of Prime TV, gives the PCRM 33.6% of the poll. According to the preliminary election results presented by the CEC, the PCRM leads with 40.5% of the vote, with 95.4% of the ballots counted.
